Frequently asked questions
What counts as a row?
Every record written to an output table by a generation job counts toward your daily row quota. If a job produces 40,000 appointments and 12,000 customers, that is 52,000 rows. Previews do not count against the row quota; they are limited separately by the per minute preview rate.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe, and you can cancel (or update your payment method and download invoices) at any time from the Stripe billing portal. Open it under Settings, Plan & billing, then Manage billing. Your plan stays active through the end of the paid period.
Is the data really synthetic?
Yes. Artificer never ingests real data. There are no dataset uploads at all. Every value is generated from your scenario parameters, public reference data, and pack authored distributions, and every dataset ships with a manifest declaring its synthetic provenance. Any resemblance to real people or businesses is coincidental.
What happens if I hit a quota?
The API returns a clear quota exceeded error and nothing is charged or lost. Active job capacity returns when a run finishes. Daily limits reset at midnight in New York, including daylight saving time changes.
How will pay as you go credits be priced?
Credits reflect the estimated rows, output size, and bounded runtime of a run. Artificer shows the exact credit price before launch, reserves that amount, and returns unused reserved credits after settlement. Credits are sold in $10 packs to keep payment fees economical.
