Mock Matrix

Terms of Service

Last updated July 9, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mock Matrix, a synthetic data generation service operated by Data Dudes Consulting ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you are using Mock Matrix on behalf of an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization to them.

1. The service

Mock Matrix generates fully synthetic business datasets from parameters you provide: you describe a scenario, choose a domain pack, and the service produces downloadable data files together with a provenance manifest. The service consists of the web application, the HTTP API, and the generated artifacts. We may change, add, or remove features as the product evolves.

2. Accounts and API keys

You sign in with a Google account; each account belongs to an organization that owns its scenarios, jobs, and artifacts. Keep your API keys secret — anything done with your keys or session is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly at the contact address below if you believe a credential has been compromised, and do not share accounts in ways that circumvent plan limits.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use generated data to deceive — e.g. presenting synthetic records as real people, real transactions, or real evidence, or using them for fraud, spam, or impersonation;
  • probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or attempt to access other tenants' data;
  • resell or redistribute the service itself without our written agreement;
  • use the service in violation of applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse quotas, or create risk for other users, and we will use reasonable efforts to warn you first where practical.

4. Synthetic data disclaimer

All generated output is fictitious. No real persons, businesses, transactions, or events are represented; any resemblance to real people or entities is coincidental. The data is designed for development, testing, demos, and training pipelines — it is provided without any warranty of statistical fitness for production, medical, financial, legal, or other consequential decisions, and you are responsible for validating it for your use case. Generated datasets are yours to use, including commercially, subject to Section 3.

5. Plans, payment, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed by subscription through Stripe, our payment processor. Prices and plan entitlements are listed on the pricing page and may change with notice; changes apply from your next billing period. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal (Settings → Plan & billing); your plan remains active until the end of the period already paid. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

6. Data and retention

Generated artifacts are retained for the period included in your plan and then automatically deleted. Our handling of account information is described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for downloading and backing up any artifacts you want to keep beyond your plan's retention window.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will be communicated through the service or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
